INGREDIENTS:
CAKE
- 150 gr sugar
- 100 gr butter at room temperature
- 3 eggs
- 100ml of milk
- 300 gr flour 00
- 16gr Lievito cake yeast or 1 tbsp baking powder and 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 3 Cortland or Crispy apples, diced
- 1 Cortland or Crispy apple, sliced
- Zest of 1 1/2 lemons
GLAZE
- 3 tbsp Martin Picard Maple Dulce de Leche
- 120ml of milk
PREPARATION:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a bowl, beat butter with sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time and mix well.
- Add milk and mix well.
- Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
- Add apple cubes and lemon zest and mix well.
- Put the cake mixture in a buttered and floured 2.2 liter Bundt cake pan.
- Place apple slices on top of the cake, making sure to press them into the mixture.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes. Check with a cake thermometer.
- Let cool. Turn out and cool completely on a wire rack.
- In a small saucepan, heat maple Dulce de Leche and milk over medium heat until smooth.
- When the cake is completely cooled, drizzle the dulce de leche and serve.
- You can also serve it with powdered sugar, whipped cream, ice cream or cinnamon sugar.
