INGREDIENTS:

CAKE

  • 150 gr sugar
  • 100 gr butter at room temperature
  • 3 eggs
  • 100ml of milk
  • 300 gr flour 00
  • 16gr Lievito cake yeast or 1 tbsp baking powder and 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 Cortland or Crispy apples, diced
  • 1 Cortland or Crispy apple, sliced
  • Zest of 1 1/2 lemons

GLAZE

  • 3 tbsp Martin Picard Maple Dulce de Leche
  • 120ml of milk

PREPARATION:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a bowl, beat butter with sugar.
  3. Add eggs one at a time and mix well.
  4. Add milk and mix well.
  5. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
  6. Add apple cubes and lemon zest and mix well.
  7. Put the cake mixture in a buttered and floured 2.2 liter Bundt cake pan.
  8. Place apple slices on top of the cake, making sure to press them into the mixture.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes. Check with a cake thermometer.
  10. Let cool. Turn out and cool completely on a wire rack.
  11. In a small saucepan, heat maple Dulce de Leche and milk over medium heat until smooth.
  12. When the cake is completely cooled, drizzle the dulce de leche and serve.
  13. You can also serve it with powdered sugar, whipped cream, ice cream or cinnamon sugar.
