Description

The reasons for its creation
Each spoonful will fill you with happiness!

Distinctions and particularities
The pistachio Bronte, this “Sicilian green gold”, is grown on land of volcanic origin. It is distinguished by its long, narrow shape, its deep emerald green and violet color, and its unique, sweet and delicate taste.

Our cream is made exclusively with Bronte pistachios, which are designated by a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO).

Territory
The pistachios used to concoct this smooth cream are grown on the slopes of Mount Etna, the highest and most active volcano in Europe located in the municipality of Bronte, Sicily. Sicily is the only Italian region where the pistachio tree of the species Pistacia vera can be grown. The Italian capital of pistachio, Bronte devotes nearly 3000 hectares of land (80% of the regional area) to the cultivation of this dry fruit.

Production method
Pistachios are harvested every two years, in odd years. Each plant produces 5 to 15 kg and the harvest is always done by hand with a basket carried on the shoulder or by shaking the trees so that the fruits fall on towels spread on the ground. Sometimes even an umbrella is used upside down.

Hands stained with resin and showing great patience, all the inhabitants of Bronte, young and old, participate in this great bi-annual harvest.

The artisans behind this product
For three generations, our producer’s family has specialized in nut processing. For 15 years she has also been making pastries and specialty confectionery.

uses
Use pistachio cream as an ingredient or accompaniment to a dessert, or as topping on toast, pancakes, ice cream or Greek yogurt.
